Tutorial: Cut Crease

Make Up Trend Cut Crease: Expressive looks for the eyes

Drama on! The Beauty Trend "Cut Crease" is everywhere -  make-up artists and beauty bloggers around the world are going for this type of contouring for the area around the eyes:

The eyelid ("Crease") is at the heart of this new make-up technique - the eyeshadows are not blended in the crease as usual. Instead, they are clearly separated to create more expression and depth

This makes the eyes appear bigger and more open - and can also be combined with an extravagant eyeliner style. The following steps show how to quickly and easily create an intensive look that is guaranteed to attract attention:

Step 1

Prime & lighten

The Nude Blossom Collection Eyeshadow Palette offers perfectly aligned powder eyeshadows for a beautiful Cut Crease Look -  including a matt contouring shade and a highlighting nuance.

First, lighten the entire eyelid with a skin-toned eyeshadow from the Nude Blossom Collection Eyeshadow Palette to emphasize the lid and make the area around the eyes appear smooth and flawless.

Step 2

Create the "cut"

Next, use the Smokey Eyes Brush to apply a berry shade from the Nude Blossom Collection Eyeshadow Palette in the crease of the lid and blend. This makes the crease retreat into the background - a visible "cut" is established between the two shades, which gives the eye more depth and makes it look larger.

Step 3

Elaborate on the "cut"

Now it's time to elaborate on the "cut": To do this, apply the lightest shade of the Nude Blossom Collection Eyeshadow Palette on the moveable part of the lid and create a sharp edge towards the crease.

Step 4

Emphasize the crease

Finally, use a fine brush to emphasize the crease with the darkest eyeshadow in the Nude Blossom Collection Eyeshadow Palette. To give the cut more depth, blend the eyeshadow upwards and outwards.

Step 5

Add eyeliner

The Cut Crease Look allows a bolder eyeliner. The eyes appear bigger and more open thanks to the emphasized crease. This means thath a bold eyeliner style won't make the eye look smaller.

Use the Glam & Doll Super Black Liner to trace a line along the lash line, creating an outward wing. The flexible felt-tip of the longlasting, deep black Glam & Doll Super Black Liners makes it easy to draw slim as well as broader lines.

Step 6

Apply mascara

Now it's time to cover the lashes in a coat of the Rock Couture Extreme Volume Mascara 24h mascara. The deep black texture and elastomer brush ensure volume, impressive length and a beautiful curl.

Step 7

Give the look a dramatic touch with Eye Lashes

Create a glamorous feeling in just a few seconds: to give the look more drama, apply the Lash Couture Smokey Eyes Volume Lashes on top of the lashes after applying mascara.

To do this, carefully peel the false lashes from the backing and, if necessary, shorten the length of the lashstrip to fit the eye. Apply the included lash glue on the lashstrip and leave to dry for approx. 30 seconds. Next, lightly press the lashstrip  onto the base of the natural lashes.
