What is vegan cosmetics – and what is not?
Many non-vegan beauty products contain animal or animal derived ingredients such as collagen or beeswax. At CATRICE, however, we prefer to avoid raw materials of animal origin and use only vegan ingredients - for your sake and for the sake of the environment: Only botanicals or synthetics can be used in our cosmetics – and on your beautiful skin! All of our cosmetics products are 100% vegan and usually branded with our Vegan logo. Eliana’s favorite product is finally vegan, too!
The well-being of animals is very important to Eliana from the CATRICE website team. “Developing a vegan formula isn’t that easy,” she explains. “For example, when mascara is made, beeswax is often used to make the texture easy to apply and last. Replacing this ingredient with a plant-based wax, such as rice bran wax, can strongly affect the performance of the mascara. That’s why we test our products thoroughly beforehand to ensure the same, if not better efficiency,” says Eliana.
